The fourth and final edition of the EURCAW Ruminants & Equines newsletter for 2025 is now available. This issue gathers a series of outputs, including our latest Question to EURCAW (Q2E). It also reports on our recent activities in Brescia, Italy: the Annual Meeting with Competent Authorities, a Roadshow dedicated to improving calf welfare, and a productive meeting with Italian stakeholders. Additionally, we share insights from our first Tabletop Simulation Exercise examining key animal welfare challenges during long-distance transport, and also report on a co-design workshop for Official Inspectors organised by the four EURCAWs.

Finally, we mark a major transition: our Director, Professor Harry Blokhuis, is retiring on 31 December 2025. We showcase his achievements and introduce Professor Jens Malmkvist, the new Director from 1 January 2026.
