A new Q2E has been published on the need for veterinary care. It is in the context of Directive 98/58/EC, which states that “Any animal which appears to be ill or injured must be cared for appropriately without delay and, where an animal does not respond to such care, veterinary advice must be obtained as soon as possible.” The requestor was interested to know if only veterinarians can provide appropriate care in situations involving uterine prolapse, and milk fever in downer cows.
