Community of Practice

Welcome to the pilot phase of the Community of Practice (CoP). The CoP is currently undergoing internal testing and will be ready for launch in June 2024.

The CoP will consist of two forums, designed for:

  1. Official Inspectors nominated by their Competent Authorities in EU member states
  2. Policy workers in the Competent Authorities

The aim of this platform is to support the exchange of knowledge amongst these two cohorts  regarding the implementation of animal welfare regulations relating to ruminants and equines. It is password protected, and only Official Inspectors nominated by their Competent Authority and Policy workers at Competent Authorities will be able to participate.

The CoP will have topics scheduled for discussion– with a focus on those within the EURCAW Ruminants & Equines work programme. There is also an opportunity for Official Inspectors and Policy Workers to initiate a topic and influence future work programmes. We may also ask for their feedback on current EURCAW activities.

If you are an Official Inspector employed by a Competent Authority,  have responsibility for ruminants and/or equine welfare in an EU member state and would like to be part of this community, please contact your Competent Authority for a nomination. During the pilot phase of the CoP, for each EU Member State, we will be accepting two Official Inspectors and two Policy Workers.
