What are the latest advances in animal health and welfare research, and how can they shape future practice? The first Scientific Conference by the European Partnership on Animal Health and Welfare (EUP AH&W) will bring researchers, experts and stakeholders together in Milan, Italy, from 19 to 22 January 2027 to exchange knowledge, discuss emerging challenges and explore innovative solutions.

Co-hosted by the University of Milan, the conference will cover a broad range of topics, including animal welfare assessment, disease surveillance, risk assessment, disease prevention and treatment, animal transport, and the links between animal health, animal welfare and One Health.

The programme will feature scientific presentations, keynote speakers and roundtable discussions examining the role of science, society and industry in advancing animal health and welfare.

A dedicated satellite meeting on 19 January 2027 will explore the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in animal health and welfare research and its practical applications on farms and in veterinary settings. Discussions will cover disease surveillance and outbreak prediction, animal health and welfare monitoring, and vaccine development and antimicrobial resistance research.

Registration is open to researchers both within and outside the European Partnership on Animal Health and Welfare (EUP AH&W). Early-bird rates are available until 31 October 2026, and places are limited.
