SUMMARY
European Partnership on Animal Health and Welfare publishes updated research agenda for 2026
The European Partnership on Animal Health and Welfare (EUP AH&W) has published an updated 2026 Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA), setting out its long-term vision and priorities for research and innovation in animal health and welfare.
The revised agenda reflects the evolving needs of the European community, including researchers, public institutions and private partners. Animal welfare remains a central priority, with a focus on welfare assessment, animal-based measures and improved farm management practices across livestock, poultry and aquaculture.
The agenda also promotes an integrated One Health–One Welfare approach, recognising the links between animal health, welfare and sustainability.
These priorities align with the work of EURCAW Ruminants & Equines to support competent authorities in assessing animal welfare and applying EU requirements.
The SRIA is a living document that will guide the Partnership’s activities in the coming years.
