EUPAHW launches survey to shape future of real-time animal welfare monitoring
© EUPAHW
The European Partnership for Animal Health and Welfare (EUPAHW) has launched an online survey aimed at assessing the technological and structural needs for real-time animal welfare monitoring across the European Union.
This initiative, developed as part of the SoA 25 project, focuses on gathering critical scientific and technical insights to support future policymaking on animal welfare in farming, transport, and slaughterhouse settings. The survey specifically targets competent authorities and policymakers across EU Member States and candidate countries.
EUPAHW seeks to map the current landscape of animal welfare monitoring by collecting information on existing monitoring methods, data types, reporting channels, and inspection frequencies. The project also aims to identify gaps and system requirements that could inform the development of more innovative and responsive oversight mechanisms throughout the food supply chain.
The survey takes approximately 15 minutes to complete, and all responses will be processed anonymously and in full compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) requirements.
